AABB serves as a leading voice for the transfusion medicine and cellular therapies communities before a variety of federal government agencies and Congress. AABB’s Board of Directors approved an ambitious 2008 advocacy agenda for the association, with a continued focus on the establishment of and funding for a national biovigilance program, enhanced Medicare reimbursement, improvements in the Food and Drug Administration’s plasma regulations and other FDA policies, and many additional pressing issues.
