AABB Continuing Medical Education (CME/CE) Mission Statement
The goal of the AABB Continuing Medical Education (CME/CE) Program is to support the AABB mission to advance the practice and standards, transfusion medicine, cellular therapies and patient blood management to optimize patient and donor care and safety. This goal is accomplished by producing relevant, high quality, and cost-effective continuing education that increases the knowledge, competence and performance of physicians and other allied healthcare professionals.
The AABB Annual Meeting offers continuing education credits to physicians and applicable nursing and clinical laboratory personnel.
AABB is an approved, and accredited provider (Provider Number 0000381) by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
AABB designates this educational activity for credit hours in Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physicians Recognition AwardTM. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.
AABB is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 4341, as a provider of continuing nursing education programs.
California Clinical Laboratory Personnel
AABB is an approved accrediting agency for continuing education for California licensed clinical laboratory personnel. AABB’s accrediting agency number is 0011. Credit earned through attendance at this event may be used to fulfill the state requirement for continuing education hours to maintain licensure status.
Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel
AABB is approved by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel, Provider Number 50-4261-1, as a provider of continuing education programs for Florida-licensed clinical laboratory personnel.
For general attendees, who do not require continuing education credits, a Certificates of Attendance will be available.
Self-Assessment Module (SAM) Credits
AABB is approved by the American Board of Pathology to satisfy the Part II requirements of Maintenance of Certification. Self-Assessment Module (SAM) credits will be offered on select educational sessions.
Accessing CME/CE Annual Meeting Credits
In order to receive CME/CE credits at the 2017 AABB Annual Meeting, you must attend and scan your badge at a CME/CE credit session during the Annual Meeting. Instructions for printing your validated CME/CE record and/or downloading a Certificate of Attendance will be available during the meeting at designated kiosks.
