Travel to the United States

With approximately 1,000 international attendees at the AABB Annual Meeting, AABB is committed to being a resource of information for our international travelers. Below are a variety of links that will help prospective international attendees traveling to the United States.

Travelers from Visa Waiver Program Countries

Inbound travelers to the United States from Visa Waiver Program countries are required to register online via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) website. For information, visit the U.S. Visa Waiver Program homepage.

Travelers from Non-Visa Waiver Program Countries

Attendees traveling from countries that are not part of the Visa Waiver Program, you will need to apply for a visa at the American Embassy, Consulate or other visa-issuing office in their country of origin.

To obtain a visa you will need the following:

  • A letter of invitation
    (To be granted a letter of invitation you must first be registered to attend the AABB Annual Meeting. 
  • A valid passport
  • A completed Form DS 160 (Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application).

Obtaining a travel visa to attend a meeting in the United States may take longer than usual so we recommend applying for your visa as soon as possible.
