PBM Training Bundle: Convenient and On-Demand

Making sure that healthcare professionals understand the basis for a transfusion is a vital aspect of improving patient safety, which is why the AABB Standards for a Patient Blood Management Program require education for individuals who order or transfuse blood and blood components. This bundle, which features PBM modules on indications for transfusion and on patient consent, helps your staff understand current transfusion guidelines, early recognition and treatment of transfusion reactions, and proper consenting process to deliver better patient outcomes.

Additionally, the PBM Training Bundle can be used to ensure your hospital's readiness for the AABB/The Joint Commission Patient Blood Management Certification. This voluntary certification demonstrates your hospital's commitment to patient blood management while promoting patient safety through a comprehensive blood management program.

This bundle satisfies training needed to comply with PBM Standard 2.1.4 Facility-Defined Credentials and can be used for individual or group training. Modules included with purchase: Optimizing Transfusion Benefits and Informed Consent.

How Does it Work?

Once AABB receives and processes your order, each user identified on the registration form will have an AABB account created and access to the applicable module(s) will be provided via email. The institutional primary contact will receive a payment confirmation along with notification that each user identified has been granted access. Access for the users will be granted for one year from the date of purchase; to revalidate requires re-purchase of the product.

How to Register?

There are two ways to register:

  1. Complete the PBM Learning Module Institutional Registration Form and provide with payment:

  2. Click on the "Purchase" button below and complete the required information. A member of the AABB team will contact you to discuss your specific needs and provide an invoice for your determined package.

An individual's membership status cannot be used to purchase the institutional module(s)/package(s). The institution must be an institutional member of AABB to utilize the discounted member rate. Nonmember institutions will be charged the nonmember price.
