AABB and BBANYS Collaborate to Offer Expanded Benefits

New York, N.Y. and Bethesda, Md. – AABB and the Blood Banks Association of New York State, or BBANYS, are proud to announce a new society-to-society collaboration. Under the agreement, AABB will offer qualifying BBANYS individual members a one-time only, single year membership to AABB. BBANYS members may opt out during BBANYS’ membership renewal period. Following the initial year of AABB membership, AABB will offer BBANYS members a discounted membership rate.

“As part of AABB’s ongoing effort to engage blood banking professionals, we are proud to participate in this meaningful collaboration,” said Miriam A. Markowitz, AABB CEO. “This is truly a cooperative venture, in which both BBANYS and AABB have identified common goals and are working closely to capitalize on their organizations' strengths. Both memberships are focused on supporting professional development goals to drive innovation in patient care. By extending AABB member benefits to BBANYS professionals, we are able share resources produced by AABB members and provide innovative professional development tools, such as the AABB HUB.”

BBANYS members who participate in this collaboration will be able to participate in the following AABB member benefits:

  • Complimentary e-subscriptions to: AABB News, AABB Weekly Report, AABB SmartBrief, AABB News Flashes and Association Bulletins
  • Voting privileges
  • Eligibility to serve on AABB Committees and Board of Directors
  • Access to the AABB Membership Directory
  • AABB member rates on publications, audioconferences and registration fees for AABB meetings
  • A Special Interest Group in the AABB HUB for BBANYS members.
