Bethesda, Md. — AABB has appointed Thomas Hopkins, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President, Finance, at AABB, to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Hopkins brings more than 12 years of association experience to the position. Over the past two years, Tom has been responsible for the accounting, finance, information technology, eLearning and most recently the member service center at AABB. Previously, he served as CFO for the American Association of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, Inc. He is exceptionally qualified to serve in this vital role as the AABB Board of Directors conducts its executive search for a new leader.
Miriam Markowitz, who joined the organization in May 2013, has played a significant role in furthering AABB’s mission of advancing the practice and standards of transfusion medicine and cellular therapies to optimize patient and donor care and safety.
