Bethesda, Md. – AABB announced today that it is republishing the fourth edition of
Applied Blood Group Serology for a limited time. The landmark publication, written by Peter D. Issitt, PhD, FIMLS, FIBiol, FRCPath; and David J. Anstee, PhD, FRCPath, FMEedSci, is widely considered one of the most influential books for professionals in the field of immunohematology and continues to be used as a reference for blood bankers throughout the world.
“No publication as comprehensive as the Fourth Edition of
Applied Blood Group Serology has been published in the last 20 years,” said one of the book’s authors, Dr. Peter Issitt. “It covers not just the blood groups but topics such as compatibility testing, transfusion reaction, drug-induced antibodies, and many more topics.”

To celebrate the rerelease of the book, AABB has added a special book-signing event at its upcoming
2019 AABB Annual Meeting, to be held Oct. 19-22 in San Antonio, Texas. Issitt and Anstee will participate in two book-signing sessions during the Annual Meeting – on both Sunday and Monday afternoons from noon to 2:30 pm.
