Transfusion is AABB’s scholarly, peer-reviewed monthly journal, publishing on the latest technological advances, clinical research, and controversial issues related to transfusion
medicine, cellular and gene therapies, and tissue transplantation. Each issue addresses topics such as clinical transfusion, immunology, genetics, cellular therapy, and hematology. In addition to a supplement containing Annual Meeting abstracts, other
supplements focus on key conference proceedings and single-topic content not readily available elsewhere.
Transfusion is transitioning to an online-focused format beginning with the January 2026 issue. AABB members can opt to continue to receive a monthly printed version of the journal for an additional price. Please see the FAQ page for more information about this transition.
Transfusion is free to all AABB members. AABB members may click here to login and access their online Transfusion subscription. Click here to submit an article; manuscript submission fees are waived for AABB members.
Transfusion offers continuing medical education (CME) credits for reading select articles in the journal and successfully completing a test on the content.
