The Donor Hemovigilance program provides participating facilities access to a web-based electronic data collection system, DonorHART™, benchmark reports with donor hemovigilance data, and case discussions with experts, and a chance to be a part of the national donor hemovigilance forum.
By collaborating through AABB, blood centers across the country can work together to help reduce adverse events associated with blood collection and improve overall donor safety.
The following benefits to participating centers include:
Use of the DonorHART™ (Donor Hemovigilance Analysis and Reporting Tool)
Benchmark internally, with other blood centers, and against national averages
Use of internationally consistent definitions for adverse reactions associated with blood donation
Access to in-depth analyses by qualified experts for the purpose of recommending nationwide donor health and safety enhancements
Mitigate risk through case analysis with your peers and with experts
Gain a better understanding of the rare, serious adverse donor reactions through aggregating data nationally with other blood collectors
