Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services

While work on the 1st edition of Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services began in 1957, the book was published in 1958. The Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services in previous years had been revised and published on an 18-month cycle, however with the 29th edition, the Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services will move to a 24 month cycle.  Going forward, the Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services will be updated in April of even numbered years.  The 29th edition became effective April 1, 2014 and is available for purchase. A summary of significant changes to the 29th edition is also available.
