Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services

While work on the 1st edition of Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services began in 1957, the book was published in 1958. The Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services is revised and published on an 18-month cycle.  The 27th edition became effective on May 1, 2011 and is available for purchase. A summary of significant changes to the 27th edition is available here.

Work on the proposed 28th edition has been completed and the draft is now available for review and comment.  The proposed 28th edition can be accessed here. The 28th edition is the first edition of Standards to incorporate the updated Quality Systems Essentials 2011.
