AABB offers a certificate course for individuals who would like to be recognized as AABB-trained sample collectors for relationship testing purposes. The Relationship Testing Standards and best practices as they apply to sample collectors are explained in this online program.
Successful individuals will earn a Certificate of Training from AABB and, provided that the individual complies with the requirements provided during the training course, will be included on the list of qualified collection suppliers updated quarterly and made available to AABB accredited Relationship Testing Laboratories worldwide in the members-only section of the AABB website. The certificate is valid for the duration of the current edition of the AABB Standards for Relationship Testing Laboratories (valid through December 31, 2025). AABB reserves the right to remove non-compliant collectors from the list.
This web-based course was developed by subject-matter and quality expert, Marsha Deitz, MBA, MT (ASCP), CQA (ASQ), who is also AABB’s Director of Relationship Testing and Forensics.
Course Format: self-paced, online, audio-visual program that takes approximately an hour and a half to complete. Individuals watch and listen to the program then complete the post-test. A pre-test (pdf) is also available in the program.
