Individualized Bleeding Management in Trauma and Surgery

Sunday, November 6, 2022 | 4:30 pm – 5:15 pm

Our interactive workshop will cover the latest developments in bleeding management in trauma and surgical patients, including use of massive transfusion protocols (MTPs) in trauma and recent advances in the understanding of trauma-induced coagulopathy. We will address the growing interest in replacing blood products with factor concentrates as part of goal-directed coagulation management and for avoidance of transfusion-related adverse reactions. In addition, we will analyze the role of plasma vs. prothrombin complex concentrates (PCCs), cryoprecipitate vs. fibrinogen concentrates, and the current gaps in the literature addressing bleeding management in trauma and surgery. Our workshop will also highlight strategies aimed at improving patient outcomes in bleeding management.
