AABB will offer a virtual training series for assessors in lieu of its annual AABB Assessor Continuing Education Day, which is typically held immediately before the AABB Annual Meeting. This virtual training series, which consists of five modules, will allow assessors to complete the training at their own pace over the course of the year. Module topics include assessment experiences, a deep dive into the APEX assessor portal, AABB/College of American Pathologists (CAP)-coordinated assessments and nonconformances. AABB is finalizing the modules and will send out further instructions when the program is available (expected early to mid-October).
The AABB Accreditation Assessor Program provides volunteer professional training in auditing techniques; quality program and operations; and the competitive, legal and ethical issues associated with assessments. It teaches assessors to evaluate a facility's quality and operational systems and provides both assessors and the facility with educational exposure to new ideas about quality systems.
