Complimentary registration is available for the third annual World Cord Blood Day Virtual Conference, to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, as part of World Cord Blood Day 2020. This complimentary event is designed to promote understanding of and dispel common misunderstandings regarding cord blood. The agenda features interviews with cord blood transplantation experts, conversations with cord blood transplant recipients, updates on the latest clinical trials, a discussion on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cord blood collection and selection, and question-and-answer sessions.
This year’s opening session features a presentation by Moshe Israeli, PhD, of Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, Israel, and will be available via livestream. In addition, Marcie Finney, MBA, MS, executive director of the Cleveland Cord Blood Center and an AABB member, will participate in the virtual Q&A session, "Impact of COVID-19 on Cord Blood," to highlight how AABB has supported her and her team during the pandemic. The full conference agenda, speaker biographies and registration information are available online.
The World Cord Blood Day web page features additional resources for organizations and individuals interested in participating, including a global event calendar, cord blood facts and marketing materials. AABB encourages members to share their World Cord Blood Day activities and follow along on Facebook and Twitter by using #WCBD20.
As part of the World Cord Blood Day celebration, AABB invites members to access the on-demand Oct. 21 eCast, “Updates on Current States of Cord Blood Expansion Technologies,” at no cost.
