PBM Awareness Week Begins Monday

October 27, 2021

AABB proudly supports Patient Blood Management Awareness Week, taking place Nov. 1-5. The Association is dedicated to increasing public and professional understanding of how PBM can improve patient outcomes. This has become particularly important during the COVID-19 pandemic, as there have been significant fluctuations in the supply and need for blood. To support this effort, AABB provides complimentary educational resources and promotes evidence-based best practices through the Standards for a Patient Blood Management Program.

The Society for the Advancement of Blood Management (SABM) also released a number of PBM resources, including a downloadable PBM poster. AABB encourages members to visit the SABM Patient Blood Management Awareness Week web page for additional information and to share their PBM Awareness Week activities using the #PBMAW2021 hashtag.
