REGULATORY UPDATE: FDA Modernization Efforts Take Effect

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration officially implemented a reorganization package on Tuesday that included the creation of a unified Human Foods Program (HFP), adoption of a new model for its field operations and other modernization efforts

As part of these changes, the Office of Regulatory Affairs is now named the Office of Inspections and Investigations, focusing on inspections, investigations and imports as its core mission. The FDA also plans to pilot a new online consumer complaint form to streamline the process of reporting potential public health risks.
