AABB offers a certificate course for individuals who would like to be recognized as AABB-trained Qualified DNA Sample Collectors for relationship testing purposes.
Individuals who successfully complete the training will receive a Certificate of Training from AABB. Upon meeting all requirements outlined during the course, they will also be added to the roster of Qualified DNA Sample Collectors. This list is updated monthly and made available to AABB-accredited Relationship Testing Laboratories worldwide through the members-only section of the AABB website. The certificate remains valid for the duration of the current edition of the AABB Standards for Relationship Testing Laboratories (through December 31, 2027). AABB reserves the right to remove any collectors who fail to maintain compliance with program requirements.
This web-based course was developed by subject-matter and quality expert, Marsha Deitz, MBA, MT (ASCP), CQA (ASQ), AABB’s director of relationship testing and forensics.
Course Format: self-paced, online, audio-visual program that takes approximately an hour and a half to complete. Individuals watch and listen to the program then complete the post-test. A pre-test (pdf) is also available in the program.
