Addition to ensure that third-party providers of perioperative services have staff who are trained and competent to meet the requirements in the 12th edition.
Addition requiring all perioperative programs to review and manage the workload of all personnel to ensure patient safety.
Addition to ensure that all laboratories monitor their critical technology infrastructure and that they function as expected. There shall be defined checks to monitor that technology is working as intended and expected.
All blood and blood components must be labeled clearly and identified for perioperative administration or reinfusion.
Programs using alternative physiological wash fluid must have policies, processes, and procedures for its use.
Programs using normothermic machine perfusion for organ procurement must have policies, processes, and procedures for the use.
