The Blood Connection
With almost 30 years in the transfusion medicine field, Delisa K. English, MBA, is currently serving as the president and chief executive officer of The Blood Connection, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina.
Founded in 1962, The Blood Connection is an independently managed, nonprofit community blood center that recruits donors, collects blood and serves hospitals within a four-state area in the Southeast. Partnering with more than 140 health care facilities, The Blood Connection plays an essential and critical role in the health and well-being of each community it serves.
Prior to joining The Blood Connection, English held several leadership roles with The American Red Cross Biomedical Services, leading both the Carolinas Blood Services region and the South Carolina Blood Services region. Her prior experience includes working on a NATO assignment in Portugal and service in the Alabama Air National Guard.
English holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University. Additionally, she holds a Master of Project Management certification from George Washington University. English is also active in the Greenville community, volunteering with several organizations and serving on non-profit boards. She and her husband, Michael, who is retired from the United States Air Force, have two sons.
