Proposed Legislation in Michigan Would Offer Tax Credits for Blood Donations

February 07, 2023

Michigan State Rep. Rachel Hood introduced legislation Feb. 1 that would provide tax breaks for blood donations. According to Hood, the legislation (House bill 4068) seeks to “encourage life-saving blood donations and helps stimulate the lagging economy by helping people save on taxes.”

“One of the lingering impacts of the pandemic is a reduced blood supply,” Hood said. “It’s time to get back on track so we can save lives and accelerate access to health care. Motivating blood donors to get back into the habit of donating blood is a crucial step to ensure better health care for all.”
