AABB Publishes New Guide to the Use of Blood Warming Devices

AABB recently published a new Guide to the Use of Blood Warming Devices, the Association’s latest publication designed to support members in their professional growth. This resource, developed by members of the AABB Transfusion Medicine Section Coordinating Committee, provides an overview on blood-warming technologies and highlights the advantages of the devices. It also provides information on indications for use, contraindications, warnings and administrative aspects of the technologies.

Notably, this Guide addresses the concerns of those who establish policies, processes and procedures to achieve AABB Standard 3.8. The helpful hints from the book’s experienced authors may not be widely available elsewhere.
