AABB invites Spanish-speaking members of the blood and biotherapies community to join the Spanish Language Subsection (SLS) for the group’s 2024 kick-off meeting, taking place from 5 to 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
At the kick-off meeting, attendees are invited to introduce themselves, meet the subsection leadership and discuss topics of interest for future meetings. Subsequent meetings will take place the fourth Wednesday of each month. The meeting focus will alternate between topics in transfusion medicine and biotherapies.
The SLS, initially created for Spanish-speaking members in AABB’s Cellular Therapies Section, expanded its enrollment in 2022 to include all Spanish-speaking AABB members interested in discussing blood and biotherapies in Spanish. Past discussion topics include donor qualification, manufacturing, storage and transport challenges, quality operations, regulatory issues and development. The group also addresses specific regional issues for developing programs.
AABB invites all individual members who speak or understand Spanish who would like to share their insights and expertise to enroll in the SLS via the Transfusion Medicine Section and Cellular Therapies Section Subsection websites.
