AABB Updates Abstract Review Process for 2024 AABB Annual Meeting

Following recommendations from the AABB Annual Meeting Scientific Program Task Force, AABB has updated the Abstract Preparation and Submission Guidelines for the 2024 AABB Annual Meeting to reflect a change in the process to review scientific abstract submissions. Under the updated guidelines, the requirement to blind reviewers to any identifying information within the abstract has been removed.

AABB Annual Meeting Scientific Program Task Force, appointed by the AABB Board of Directors and tasked with elevating the Annual Meeting scientific program, made this recommendation to align with current best practices in the peer-review process in the field.

AABB encourages members of the blood and biotherapies community to review the updated guidelines. Abstract submissions for the 2024 AABB Annual Meeting will be accepted through May 6, 2024. Individuals who have already submitted an abstract are welcome to make changes until the deadline. Also, as a reminder: AABB has eliminated the abstract submission fee (previously priced at $25) this year.

The 2024 AABB Annual Meeting will be held Oct. 19-22 in Houston, Texas. Registration will open later this year.
