AABB’s newest education program, the AABB Leadership Certificate in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine, a specialized leadership training for emerging laboratory leaders, is now open and accessible by registrants on the AABB Education Platform.
The program, generously supported by QuidelOrtho, aims to educate the next generation on the core concepts necessary to cultivate effective leaders in the blood and biotherapies field.
The program is a self-paced, multi-media online leadership training developed in accordance with ANSI/ASTM E2659-18, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs. The curriculum was developed through an extensive needs analysis with the input of expert advisory panels, and the content and learning experience uses the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) model of instructional design. Additionally, AABB engaged a leading instructional design company – which also developed the AABB and Canadian Blood Services individual donor assessment training modules – to create the interactive eLearning experience.
Modules, exercises and resources address a broad array of topics throughout seven key domains:
