#AABB24: Cellular Starting Material Forum to Focus on Allogeneic Donation

August 06, 2024

AABB is pleased to announce the return of the Cellular Starting Material (CSM) Forum to the 2024 AABB Annual Meeting, taking place Oct. 19-22 in Houston, Texas.

First introduced in 2021, the CSM Forum is an engaging discussion led by providers of CSM and therapy developers from diverse organizations across biotherapies ecosystem. This year’s forum, "From Consent to Characterization - Enhancing Allogeneic Donor Practices," will focus on the critical elements of managing allogeneic CSM for biotherapies.

An expert panel from across the biotherapies community will explore key topics such as ensuring appropriate consent from healthy adult and cord blood donors, the impacts of genetic screening and immune profiling, and the integration of new characterization assays to enhance the quality and safety of biotherapeutic products. The forum promises to offer valuable insights into the latest best practices and cutting-edge approaches in the field.

AABB encourages members of the blood and biotherapies to view the entire 2024 education program online. Advanced registration for the meeting ends Sept. 4.
