Reminder: Sickle Cell Warrior Taking Over AABB’s Instagram Page in Honor of Sickle Cell Awareness Month

AABB is pleased to announce that Victoria Gray, the first patient to receive a CRISPR-based gene therapy for sickle cell disease (SCD), will take over AABB’s Instagram page on Monday, Sept. 30.

During the takeover, Gray will bring followers along as she shares her experience as a patient with SCD and highlights the transformative power of gene therapy. She will also share how her life has changed since receiving this groundbreaking treatment and showcase her continued efforts to improve and expand access to SCD treatment.

As part of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, Gray’s takeover will spotlight her personal story of resilience, the challenges of living with SCD and her hopes for the future. Followers will gain a unique perspective on what it's like to navigate life with a chronic condition and hear firsthand about the positive impacts of gene therapy.
