REGULATORY UPDATE: FDA Seeks Nominations for BPAC Voting Member

The Food and Drug Administration is seeking nominations for members to serve on its federal advisory committees, including one consumer representative for the Blood Products Advisory Committee (BPAC). This is a voting member position.

BPAC advises FDA on the safety, effectiveness and appropriate use of blood, blood products, and certain biotechnology or serum-derived products intended for diagnosing, preventing or treating human diseases. The committee also reviews any other product under FDA’s regulatory oversight.

Interested individuals may nominate one or more qualified candidates; self-nominations are also accepted. Instructions for submitting nominations are available in the Federal Register notice. The nomination deadline is July 28.
