The 2025 AABB Annual Meeting will include several sessions designed to support attendees’ professional growth in transfusion medicine and biotherapies, with offerings tailored for early-career professionals, emerging leaders and experienced practitioners seeking new ways to contribute to the field.

This session will provide practical guidance for those looking to begin publishing or reviewing scientific manuscripts. Speakers will outline the publishing timeline, differentiate manuscript types and offer frameworks for critical review and effective authorship. The session will take place Saturday, Oct. 25, from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. PT in Room 31ABC.
This session will explore five core principles that contribute to strong team culture, emphasizing trust, psychological safety and shared values. It will also offer actionable strategies for professionals at all levels to influence their work environments. The session will take place Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. PT in Room 25ABC.
This interactive session will connect residents, fellows and early-career professionals with experienced mentors in small group discussions. The format will facilitate open dialogue about career paths, professional engagement and navigating challenges early in one’s career. This session will bring together a panel of early-career faculty from academic, private and blood center settings to share their experiences transitioning from training to independent practice. The panel will highlight essential skills for success, strategies for effective mentorship and ways to build a long-term development plan. The session will take place on Monday, Oct. 27, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. PT in Room 25ABC.
This session will highlight new approaches to transfusion medicine education based on adult learning theory, including active learning strategies, self-study and flipped classroom models. Speakers will share free, adaptable teaching tools designed to improve education for residents, fellows and medical students.
