CMS to Join AABB eCast on Cellular Therapies Coding and Reimbursement

John Brooks, deputy administrator and chief policy and regulatory officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), will join experts from the AABB community for an eCast focusing on coding and reimbursement for cellular therapies. The program will take place 2-3 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The program will explore reimbursement considerations for chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell, stem cell and tumor-derived therapies. Speakers will review recent CMS rule changes, share case studies from health care facilities and provide practical tools to support reimbursement processes. The program also will highlight AABB’s advocacy efforts and discuss regulatory developments that may influence reimbursement strategies in the future.

Wanxing Cui, PhD, CABP(H), director of the cell therapy manufacturing facility at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, will moderate the session. He will be joined by Susan Leppke, MPH, AABB’s senior director of public policy and strategic partnerships, and Ronit Slotky, PhD, MSc, CABP, director of the cell therapy manufacturing facility at Hackensack University Medical Center.
