AABB and the Etablissement Français du Sang (EFS) are accepting registrations through Dec. 20 for their immunohematology wet workshop on red blood cell (RBC) antibody detection and identification. The one-day, hands-on workshop will take place March 22 in Windhoek, Namibia, immediately before the 12th International Congress of the Africa Society for Blood Transfusion (AfSBT).
The workshop is designed to strengthen pretransfusion testing practices and improve patient outcomes. Participants will perform and interpret RBC antibody screening and identification on patient and donor samples and discuss transfusion management for patients with clinically significant RBC alloantibodies in low-resource settings.
Attendees must complete three pre-workshop webinars (offered in English and French). While the wet workshop is limited to professionals working in Africa, the pre-workshop webinars are open to all individuals. Those who complete the webinars and attend the workshop will receive a certificate of attendance.
There is no fee to attend, and transportation from the AfSBT Congress hotel to the Namibia University of Science and Technology is included.
Registration is limited to 24 participants. Additional details are available on the AABB website.
