The Technologist in Blood Banking [BB(ASCP)] certification is awarded to individuals who demonstrate an understanding of the underlying scientific principles of laboratory testing, and have mastered related technical, procedural and problem-solving skills. Recipients of this certification understand the factors affecting health and disease, and recognize the importance of proper test selection, reasons for discrepant test results and deviations of test results and ethics.
