Reminder: Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to Highlight Blood Donors, First Responders During NBDM Instagram Takeover

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will take over the AABB Instagram account on Thursday, Jan. 25, to highlight the connection between blood donors, first responders and hospitals in saving lives. The takeover is in celebration of National Blood Donor Month (NBDM), recognized each January.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center – on Instagram at @CommitforLife – is an AABB institutional member that provides blood to 170 hospitals and health care facilities in a 26-county area, including the largest medical center in the world, Texas Medical Center. The staff at Gulf Coast needs to collect around 1,000 blood donations each day to meet their community’s needs for life-saving blood.

During the takeover, Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will introduce some of the first responders and medical professionals working to help patients across Texas. Viewers will also meet transfusion recipients whose lives were saved due to the generosity and commitment of blood donors. Finally, the takeover will highlight the connection between blood donors, blood centers, first responders and hospitals.
