Canadian Blood Services Announces New Dana Devine Award

Canadian Blood Services introduced a new award this month to honor Dana Devine, PhD, who retired from the organization in 2023 after 25 years of service. An AABB member for 25 years, Devine is also a past president of AABB (2021-22) and the 2021 recipient of AABB’s prestigious Hemphill-Jordan Leadership Award, which recognized her extensive contributions to transfusion medicine.

The Dana Devine Award we be delivered in partnership with the Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine (CTSM) and will recognize promising scientists in a field related to transfusion science and medicine, blood banking and blood biotherapies. The award will be announced each year at the annual conference of the CSTM, where the recipient will deliver a lecture.
