LifeShare Blood Center Launches New Biologics Division

LifeShare Blood Center, an AABB institutional member based in Louisiana, recently announced the launch of LifeShare Biologics, a new division dedicated to expanding the organization’s mission by delivering a broad range of cellular products.
Monica Kalvelage, MTSM, MLS(ASCP)MB, SBB, will lead the division as chief operating officer of biologics. To support the new division, LifeShare has realigned several business units to provide operational expertise and promote collaboration.
In conjunction with this development, LifeShare appointed Geri Venable, MHA, as chief operating officer of blood services. Venable previously led LifeShare’s blood collections team and played a key role in the organization’s filing of a biologics license application for both frequent and non-frequent plasma donors.
