AABB Nominating Committee Announces Slate of Candidates for 2025-26 Board of Directors

The AABB Nominating Committee is pleased to present the slate of candidates to serve as the Association’s 2025-26 Board of Directors. The slate includes the committee’s recommendations to fill both the open officer and open at-large board positions for the 2025-26 Association year.

The committee recommends the following members to serve as officers:

  • Richard Schäfer, MD, FRSB, for president-elect.
  • Delisa English, MBA, for vice president.
  • Sally Campbell-Lee, MD, FCAP, CABP, for secretary.

The committee recommends the following at-large board members for re-election:

  • Pampee Young, MD, PhD, for position #1.
  • Ray Goodrich, PhD, for position #5.

The committee recommends the following appointed board member for election:

  • Caroline Wesonga Wangamati, MSc, MA, BCom, for position #7.

The committee recommends the following AABB member for election:

  • Rob Van Tuyle for position #9.

After thoughtful deliberation, the AABB Nominating Committee selected a talented slate of individuals with deep and varied expertise in the field. As in recent years, the committee decided to put forward an unopposed slate. This carefully considered decision is consistent with best practices in association governance, particularly when striving to add new perspectives to leadership. The committee is confident that this year’s slate, together with the returning board members, comprises a group of members with rich and varied backgrounds that are optimally positioned to lead AABB with knowledge, commitment and experience.

Per AABB's bylaws, additional nominees for the open at-large director positions may be submitted using the petition process. Instructions for submitting a nomination by petition and related submission requirements are available on AABB's website. The deadline to submit nominations by petition is July 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

The membership will be asked to confirm the slate via election starting on Aug. 13 and closing on Sept. 10 with results published in September. The 2025-26 AABB Board of Directors will be installed during the 2025 AABB Annual Meeting, which will take place Oct. 25-28 in San Diego.
