AABB to Present New CGT Standards at Meeting on the Mesa

Jeff Wren, MBA, CABP, AABB’s vice president of biotherapies, will introduce the first edition of AABB’s Standards for Cell and Gene Therapies for Pharmacy (CGT Standards) during the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine’s Cell & Gene Meeting on the Mesa, taking place Oct. 6-8 in Phoenix. The presentation will take place at 10:45 a.m. MT on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Developed by leading experts representing key biotherapies and pharmacy stakeholders, the CGT Standards are designed to optimize and advance quality and safety for the receipt, storing, handling and dispensing of approved CGT products under pharmacy management.

During his presentation, Wren will discuss how the standards and related accreditation program can help specialty pharmacies to enhance patient safety, safeguard product integrity and support operational readiness as they enter this new space.

Organizations interested in adopting CGT Standards can purchase standards or begin a complimentary two-week trial in AABB’s Standards Portal.
