AABB2025: Round Table Session to Focus on Key Topics for Hospital-Based Blood Collectors

AABB invites clinicians and staff hospital-based blood collectors to participate in a round table discussion during the 2025 AABB Annual Meeting in San Diego. The event will take place Sunday, Oct. 26, from 5-6 p.m. PT in Room 26B of the San Diego Convention Center.

The round table session – open exclusively to hospital-based blood collection professionals – will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss challenges and collaborate on strategies to strengthen programs. Discussion topics include supporting blood drives by faith-based groups, prehospital transfusion programs and using social media to attract and engage donors. An open “brainstorm” table will allow participants to share additional ideas.

AABB encourages attendees to invite colleagues from other hospital-based collection centers to join the conversation. This round table session will replace the Association’s regularly scheduled Zoom call for hospital-based blood collectors, which was originally scheduled for Oct. 28.
