Transfusion, AABB’s peer-reviewed research journal, is launching a new section, “Managing Acute Bleeding,” to provide a dedicated forum for preclinical and clinical research on bleeding management in prehospital and hospital settings.
The section will focus primarily on original research related to transfusion support in acutely bleeding patients, while also covering diagnostic testing and monitoring, adjunctive therapies, vascular access, cell salvage and other aspects of acute hemorrhage care. It is intended to bring together trauma specialists, transfusion medicine experts and investigators from military and civilian settings working to improve patient outcomes.
The journal’s longstanding “Hemostasis” section will continue to publish basic science studies of coagulation and related topics, while “Managing Acute Bleeding” will emphasize research with direct clinical relevance.
