Gulf Coast Blood Announces New Leadership Appointments

Gulf Coast Blood, an AABB institutional member based in Houston, recently announced two leadership appointments.

Marc Lewis, Vice President, Supply Chain Operations

Marc Lewis has been named vice president of blood supply chain operations, overseeing manufacturing, inventory and logistics for blood and research products.

Lewis brings more than 30 years of experience with Gulf Coast Blood, most recently leading a transition to a centralized donor collections model integrating fixed sites and mobile operations to improve efficiency and capacity. He has held leadership roles across hospital services, production and regional operations, including serving as vice president of operations.

Beyond his institution, Lewis contributes to the broader blood community as a member of Blood Centers of America’s National Contracting and Plasma Committees and collaborates with the National Blood Collaborative Inventory Workgroup on blood inventory challenges.

Kevin Shipley, Vice President, Donor & Community Engagement

Kevin Shipley has been promoted to vice president of donor and community engagement, where he will lead the organization’s collections operations, donor recruitment and customer experience teams.

Shipley has more than 20 years of experience with the organization and also contributes to the broader transfusion medicine community through board service with the Association of Donor Relations Professionals.
