In the episode, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Administrator Jonathan Morrison; Randi Schaefer, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, president of the Prehospital Blood Transfusion Coalition; and NCSL policy specialist Aneesa Turbovsky joined host Ed Smith to discuss why prehospital blood programs are a priority for NHTSA, challenges associated with establishing such programs and state legislative efforts to support paramedics administering blood in the field.
