AABB Nominating Committee Announces Slate of Candidates for 2026-27 Board of Directors

The AABB Nominating Committee is pleased to present the slate of candidates to serve as the Association’s 2026-27 Board of Directors. The slate includes the committee’s recommendations to fill both the open officer and open at-large board positions for the 2026-27 Association year.

The committee recommends the following members to serve as officers:

  • Delisa English, MBA, for president-elect.
  • Sally Campbell-Lee, MD, FCAP, CABP, for vice president.
  • John Hagins, for secretary.

The committee recommends the following at-large board members for re-election:

  • Don Siegel, PhD, MD, for position #4.
  • Melissa Cushing, MD, for position #6.
  • Harpreet Sandhu, CLS (AAB), MBA, MS, for position #8.

The committee recommends the following AABB members for election:

  • Tanya Petraszko, MD, FRCPC, for at-large position #2
  • Audra Taylor, MS, SBB(ASCP), for at-large position #3
  • Alyssa Ziman, MD, for at-large position #10

After thoughtful deliberation, the AABB Nominating Committee selected a talented slate of individuals with deep and varied expertise in the field. As in recent years, the committee decided to put forward an unopposed slate. This carefully considered decision is consistent with best practices in association governance, particularly when striving to add new perspectives to leadership. The committee is confident that this year’s slate, together with the returning board members, comprises a group of members with rich and varied backgrounds that are optimally positioned to lead AABB with knowledge, commitment and experience.

Per AABB's bylaws, additional nominees for the open at-large director positions may be submitted using the petition process. Instructions for submitting a nomination by petition and related submission requirements are available on AABB's website. The deadline for submitting nominations by petition is July 8 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

The membership will be asked to confirm the slate via election starting on Aug. 10 and closing on Sept. 9 with results published in September. The 2026-27 AABB Board of Directors will be installed during the 2026 AABB Annual Meeting in Atlanta, which will take place Oct. 17-19.
