AABB Accepting Feedback to Shape Draft 2nd Edition of EPSOHT Standards

AABB’s Prehospital and Out of Hospital Standards Committee is seeking feedback to guide updates to the draft second edition of Standards for Emergency Prehospital and Scheduled Out of Hospital Transfusions (EPSOHT Standards).

The draft edition is based on the current first edition of Standards for Emergency Prehospital and Scheduled Out of Hospital Transfusions. Those who do not have access to the current edition may request two-week trial access to the Standards Portal by contacting standards@aabb.org.

The submission deadline is July 23. The Prehospital and Out of Hospital Standards Committee asks individuals submitting comments to identify the relevant standard number at the beginning of each comment, particularly if providing feedback on multiple standards. The committee also encourages commenters to suggest alternative wording if it would improve clarity and to provide supporting rationale or data when expressing strong agreement or disagreement with a standard.

The committee will meet shortly after the July 23 deadline to review submissions and prepare the proposed second edition for member and public comments. AABB will open a 60-day public comment period in September following the release of the proposed standards.
