AABB Opens Presales for the 22nd Edition of the Technical Manual

AABB is now accepting preorders for the 22nd edition of the Technical Manual, the definitive reference for transfusion medicine, blood banking and cellular therapies. The new edition will be available in mid-July.

First published in 1953, the Technical Manual has served as a trusted reference for transfusion medicine professionals for more than seven decades. Updated every three years, the manual reflects current science, evolving practice and regulatory developments across the field.

The 22nd edition includes 31 chapters and more than 100 methods and appendices covering blood center operations, laboratory testing, clinical transfusion medicine and cellular therapies. The publication also incorporates key Association Bulletins issued shortly before release.

Several new chapters address areas of growing importance for the profession, including regulatory considerations in biotherapies, hemostasis and coagulation, and transfusion practices in resource-limited settings. Additional updates include a new chapter on adverse reactions to cellular therapies.
