2026 Future Leader Scholarship Awards Applications Due Friday

The deadline for specialists in blood banking and transfusion medicine and biotherapies fellows to apply for the 2026 Future Leader Scholarship Awards Program is Friday.

Bestowed annually, the awards — up to two for each discipline — include a $1,500 honorarium and are meant to encourage interest in transfusion medicine and biotherapies research, development and continuing education.

Applicants must be enrolled in or have recently completed an eligible SBB certification program or be current fellows in an eligible transfusion medicine or cellular therapy training program. Complete eligibility requirements and application information are available on the AABB website.

AABB will present the awards during the 2026 AABB Annual Meeting, Oct. 17–19 in Atlanta, where recipients will deliver a five-minute presentation on their study.
