Médica Sur Earns First AABB Spanish Quality Certificate Under Latest Fundamental Standards

The blood bank at Médica Sur, a hospital in Mexico City,
Mexico, recently became the first organization to earn AABB’s Spanish Certification
in Fundamental Standards under the second edition of AABB's
Fundamental Standards for Blood Collection and Transfusion. The
certification process was completed using the English version of the standards,
with Médica Sur submitting its documentation in Spanish. The blood bank, led by
Héctor A. Baptista González, MD, previously earned certification under the
first edition.
