ASPR Announces New Trauma Care Readiness and Coordination Program

The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, recently released a notice of funding opportunity for a new Trauma Care Readiness and Coordination Program cooperative agreement. The program aims to support coordination among hospitals, emergency medical services and public health agencies.

ASPR will award approximately $2 million to four recipients to conduct pilot projects focused on identifying scalable and sustainable models for improving trauma readiness and coordination, with the goal of informing broader implementation nationwide.

The program will have a three-year period of performance covering fiscal years 2026 through 2028, with continued funding in fiscal years 2027 and 2028 subject to the availability of funds. Eligible applicants include states, consortia of states, tribes, trauma centers and nonprofits associated with Indian Health Services.

Applications are due Sept. 18. ASPR plans to issue awards by the end of September.
