LifeShare Blood Center, an AABB institutional member, has launched LifeShare Biologics (BLX), a nonprofit subsidiary focused on collecting, manufacturing, developing and distributing human-sourced biological materials for research and medical applications. Monica Kalvelage, MTSM, MLS(ASCP)MB, SBB, who previously served as LifeShare's chief operations officer, will serve as BLX's first president and CEO. LifeShare Biologics operates ISO 6 clean rooms and plans to expand its laboratory as new projects are identified.
