AABB Members Confirm 2026-27 Board of Directors

AABB members have voted to affirm the 2026-27 AABB Board of Directors slate.

AABB members welcomed three new at-large directors: Tanya Petrasczko, MD, FRCPC, will serve in at-large director position #2; Audra Taylor, MS, SBB(ASCP), will serve in at-large director position #3; and Alyssa Ziman, MD, will serve in at-large director position #10.

AABB members also re-elected Melissa Cushing, MD, for position #6; Don Siegel, PhD, MD, for position #4; and Harpreet Sandhu, CLS (AAB), MBA, MS, for position #8.

In addition, incoming president Richard Schäfer, MD, FRSB, has appointed Suzanne Thibodeaux, MD, PhD, CABP(H); and Soraya Amar, MD, as directors. The board also approved Sean Stowell, MD, to fill at-large director position #9, vacated mid-year.

AABB members elected three officers who will serve under Schäfer: Delisa English, MBA, will serve as president-elect; Sally Campbell-Lee, MD, FCAP, CABP, will serve as vice president; and John Hagins will serve as secretary. Melissa Cushing, MD, has been appointed treasurer.

AABB extends its deepest gratitude to Meghan Delaney, DO, MPH, as she completes her service on the AABB Board of Directors. Delaney's tenure as president was marked by strong and principled leadership, and her commitment to advancing the Association's mission has left a lasting impact. AABB is grateful for her many years of dedicated service.

The new AABB Board of Directors will officially begin its term at the conclusion of the 2026 Annual Meeting, which begins Saturday in Atlanta.
