Senate Confirms Mehmet Oz to Lead CMS

The United States Senate confirmed Mehmet Oz, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon and a former television personality, as the next administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by a
53-47 vote. As administrator, Oz will oversee Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and the HealthCare.gov health insurance marketplace.
