DOT Accepting Applications for Safe Streets and Roads for All Grants

The U.S. Department of Transportation is accepting applications for the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grants Program through June 26. SS4A provides funding for regional, local and tribal initiatives aimed at preventing roadway fatalities and serious injuries.

AABB urges institutional members to share this opportunity with their local EMS partners, as the program includes funding to support EMS agencies in developing and implementing prehospital transfusion programs.

In addition, AABB encourages EMS agencies that are launching or expanding their prehospital transfusion programs to consider including AABB standards and accreditation for prehospital transfusion as part of any grant proposal. Blood safety and readiness are critical components of effective prehospital care, and AABB’s accreditation program can help EMS agencies strengthen care delivery in their communities.
